Smokes and drinks just to be as much of a disappointment as possible, and to take his mind out of his head for a while.

Even more so with drugs, even if he's limiting himself to avoid becoming addicted and dependent on them.

Piercings/staples are for keeping his flesh together, as decoration, to intimidate... and a way for him to feel something other than numbness.

His hair seems to be the only part of him that's fireproof?

Until the League, he picked his clothes and most of his possessions out of dumpsters or stole them. Some were also traded for all kinds of favors.

Subconsciously plays with his hand/wrist piercings when bored.

Smells like ash and a constant undertone of rot, burnt flesh, sometimes shitty hair dye.

Some of his shit constitution comes from the effects of heavy burn-scarring; constantly having a slightly higher body temperature, and being dehydrated all the time. Usually burn victims get bad hypothermia, too, but his cold resistance luckily prevents that.

Extremely possessive of his powers. His fire is an extension of himself and he's obsessed with it, feeling that it is what makes him fully superior to his father.

Struggles more with making small flames than massive bursts, since he was only really taught to go full throttle.

Fully left-handed, not just in battle.

Dabi is a fairly tall and lanky Japanese man in his early twenties. While he has an average frame, he's not muscular and even somewhat frail. His spiky and unruly typical anime hair is dyed black, but it has gone through interesting changes during his life. (He was born with red hair and it eventually turned white like his mother's.) His eyebrows and lashes are most likely dyed black as well. His eyes are heavy-lidded but the turquoise irises are piercingly sharp.



What makes him stand out the most are the uneven patches of discolored, purplish and horribly gnarled skin grafts and burns on nearly 80% of his body. The grafts were made from cadavers and have slowly rotted and burnt. Most obvious are on his lower face, where it essentially splits him, as his own jaw burned off and had to be replaced. The grafts here also cover his ears (he has no earlobes) and neck.

Currently both arms are affected from the wrist and up, and on one side the arm scarring even flows to the shoulder and up into the burns on his neck. More of it is wrapped around his torso, at the chest and back, and his legs seem to be to be affected as well. All the injuries dulled his nerves from picking up on pain, and his tear ducts are so burned that he cannot cry. Any attempt makes him leak blood from his eye scars instead.

These patches of damaged flesh appear to be decorated and/or attached to the rest of his skin by either multiple crude surgical staples or hoop piercings *.



He clearly distances himself from his very 'proper' family and is a very alt-styled person in his clothing and accessories. Dabi has several silver cartilage piercings in both ears, and a triple nostril piercing on the right side of his nose.

His clothes are commonly black and appear to be mostly leather, aside from shirts. They're decorated with stitches and/or metal staples, as well as rips and tears that are both on purpose and not. After joining the League of Villains, his coat has thick metal bands at the edge of the shortened sleeves, something theorized to be underground illegal support items to help him regulate his heat a bit. Daddy Issues™: If you're a child of Todoroki Enji, you're going to end up a mess one way or another - and Dabi is what you get when you're bred and groomed from birth to be a golden child and then tossed away like nothing matters as soon as you're deemed a failure. Add difficulties to control his emotions and uncontrolled rage to those abandonment issues and you get a traumatized person spiraling into insanity. His time as 'failed' in AFO's 'spare children' facility only dug that feeling of being defective in even deeper.

Now Dabi's main reason for existing is to destroy his father, at every cost. He wants to crush his heroic reputation, crumble his family, and make him pay for every single way he's made Dabi feel useless and broken. Family doesn't mean anything to Dabi any more, not even the brother he was close to as a child. To him, they were all responsible for his pain. He's very aware of his own madness in his lust for vengeance and how it is the only thing that keeps him alive, and he's welcoming death at the end of his revenge.

Misanthropic Sociopath: Dabi is in general rather aloof, disinterested and rarely shows other emotions than rage. He acts crudely and seems to have no respect for anyone. He doesn't like people and is quite rude and condescending to pretty much everybody he interacts with, including his own allies. While he follows orders, he only uses people for his own gain and remains distant from any camaraderie between groups he has joined. The value he puts on people mostly comes from their ability to bring his ambitions into reality.

He expresses how he can't feel anything anymore, not even towards his family, further cementing Dabi's apathy and his disregard for any and all life. Interestingly enough Dabi appears to at least be capable of feeling a little remorse. When faced with the question if he cares about the families of the people he kills, the words appear to have resonated with him - implying that he has sympathy for the loved ones of those who he has killed. This obviously does not extend to his own family.

Cunning Sadist: Vengeance and anger is what keeps Dabi alive, and he's very intelligent. He's very cautious and extremely distrustful, and seeks out dirt and information on others as a way to manipulate them rather than putting trust in anyone. He knows how heroes operate and will exploit their natural tendency to rescue others, and he is not afraid of causing collateral damage, rarely holding back even if it puts his own allies at risk.

The one thing that cracks his normally emotionless shell is sadistically enjoying the pain he inflicts on others - taunting, harming and murders alike. He happily engages in psychological warfare with the people he fights with, both to break their spirits and to give himself time to recharge.

The Will of Stain: Dabi finds some joy in establishing himself as a villain fighting against what he believes to be false heroes, an ideology proposed by his apparent inspiration, Stain. Dabi is somewhat interested in Stain's mission and desires to destroy superhuman society, sharing his belief that one person with the necessary conviction can do so.

He appears to share Stain's sentiment that heroes are hypocritical and unworthy of their title, but unlike Stain, he does not seem to seek a society with better heroes. He thinks that they all use their 'good' actions to hide and justify all their sins, and use the public's admiration of them to keep it that way. Obviously this has a lot to do with his father, but also seems like the one thing he cares about beyond that obsession. Quirk: Cremation (fan-named), is an emitter-style quirk that gives him fire-based abilities, such as creating and generating fire at will. He can generate fire anywhere on his body with minimal effort or movement, almost instantaneously. What makes Dabi different from others with similar quirks is that the flames of his quirk are extremely hot, burning at a temperature of at least 2600°F/1400°C, which is higher than that of normal fire and even lava. It is what creates that signature blue flame of his.

His flames are powered by his emotions, mainly his rage, so the greater his anger, the hotter his flames are. Losing control of his emotions will cause his flames to run wild or ignite hotter than his body can handle... because the drawback of his massive firepower is that unlike other fire quirk users, he's not fully immune to his own fire. Unfortunately both for himself and his father's wishes, Dabi inherited his mother's genes which grant immunity to freezing temperatures instead of intense heat. While he has enough of a resistance to not vaporize himself, prolonged use of his fire starts to cook him.


In battle, Dabi is mainly a left-handed long-range fighter and tends to go full throttle from the start, making gigantic storms of fire to overwhelm and instantly kill. Because his flames damage his body the longer he uses them, he is unable to release successive attacks for long. To counter this, he will often engage in rattling the enemy in order to buy himself some cooldown time. Additionally, he has learned to take some heat off his attacks in order to reserve more power for himself for critical situations. He also provides excellent support, as he often uses his fire tactically, creating walls of fire to trap his targets within a fixed area or to propel himself in midair through the soles of his feet.


Outside of his quirk, Dabi is very much not a physical fighter and is rather weak with a poor constitution. This prevents him from fighting prolonged battles and severely limits his endurance. He's seen being taken down and knocked out immediately when he doesn't have access to his fire, so he's essentially a glass cannon.
